Well, it's a new year (Happy New Year to everyone, by the way), and with it are coming some changes. Sort of.  I'd mentioned that I wanted to start introducing some gray tones to my comic pages here on Patreon, because I really don't think I achieve everything I want to with just black and white. This Boneyard short is a first step in that direction. I didn't run out of time to ink the cornstalks, in fact I still had to go over them twice, just not with ink. I would normally ink the background with thinner lines than the foreground, to help it recede and not "compete", but the pencil really ensures that the characters pop. I'll be adding more grays in future pages, similar to "The Bigenning", until I arrive at a look I like. Count Porkula's design is adapted from a character in Gobs and Creep's End that I never got to do, so I was really looking forward to drawing him. He did not disappoint.
