Here's an example of a pinup sketch using a more realistic style body. Well, except for the rabbity bits. It's been a bit of an internal conflict for me for quite a while now.  Years ago, when I first left comics, I remember being frustrated and confused when I tried returning to fine art after years of doing almost exclusively comic art. Then it hit me: I was trying to do realistic artwork  the way I had done comic art, with no reference. Back in my fine art days, I would work out what I wanted to do in sketches, then photograph reference with a model.  I'd combine that reference with any needed reference for setting and props, along with a healthy dose of imagination, and create the final image. But when I started in comics I resolved to do it without reference, as I knew that would slow me down too much. (I did use reference occasionally, for things I wasn't good at drawing, like cars and buildings.) So when I unthinkingly tried to go back to realistic drawing without reference and my old process, it was a train wreck. I can now bridge the gap between realism and stylized cartooniness,  and maybe that's the way I should go. Thoughts? Preferences?
