Here is your Midsommar deep dive. Hailed as an instant classic, this folk horror film was one of the most unsettling pictures to drop since director Ari Aster's debut, Hereditary. While not quite as unsettling as Hereditary, Midsommar may have more staying power. And it does offer up it's share of disturbing implications in regards to neo-paganism, deep ecology, and the forces behind modern spiritual movements.

We start with Aster himself, and work our way through the film's symbolism, themes, it's historical accuracy and the influences behind it before taking stock of what's truly going on. Both on and off the screen.
