So, I was looking at the AI generated art of Quatach-Ichl posted on the MoL subreddit (link) and I was inspired to try and make the AI generated lich myself. I have been messing with Stable Diffusion for a while, and while I'm no good at it, I figured it would be amusing at least.

I ended up generating a lot of images, but none of them really looked like Quatach-Ichl in my opinion. Someone more skilled at prompting could have probably gotten a close approximation of him, though in my opinion none of the existing models are all that good at generating liches. Now if Quatach-Ichl was a hot anime girl on the other hand...

Anyway, while I failed to generate a proper Quatach-Ichl, I did indeed get some interesting images so I thought I would share. Maybe you will also find it interesting.

First, some less than stellar results:

I made a number of attempts to make a 'black skeleton with a golden crown and black armor', using different models and tweaking word choices. However, a lot of models refuse to make an actual skeleton or - as you can see in the first image above - make the bones white. Also, the crowns tend to be extremely elaborate, so I was forced to try and add them later into the image so they wouldn't distort the image too much.

Stable Diffusion also kepts putting golden halos behind the lich for some reason. I swear I didn't put that into the prompts. I'm guessing that 'gold' automatically gets associated with 'halo' in a lot of the models.

Well. These images at least look properly menacing. I tried to make the generator show him glowing green and casting magic, but it didn't work too well. It also still kept putting in halos and randomly switching the skull color to white (or greenish white, as seen in the third picture).

These were the last two attempts I made. Well, the second image was made by repeatedly tinkering with the first one in the attempt to improve it, so it's technically a collection of attempts. Call it a project I guess. The glowy things were supposed to be icosahedrons. They aren't, but if you squint and image things, you can see the resemblance. :)

These two images are still not like actual Quatach-Ichl, but they're my favorite of the bunch. They have a certain look of majesty to them, and are overall a lot less... glitzy than the previous attempts. It took quite a few attempts to get something like this, though.

Anyway, I hope you indeed found these interesting. I'm trying to speed up work on Zenith of Sorcery so I can finally start posting things, but I won't give out any promises or concrete dates yet. Thank you all for patience and have a nice day.

Awesome! They look indeed menacing! :D

You should try generating on Midjourney — I find that the quality of art is much better
