Loved the setup, but there was no payoff. Would have loved to figure out what the Whistler was. Even it it was a nefarious Thomas the Tank Engine.

I originally started the chapter with the intention of showing it. However, I realized that getting to the point of the meeting would require a chapter of about 10k words, and that was just too much. Poor planning on my part, I guess, but I wanted to showcase the journey in the Dungeon, not just the Grand Whistler itself.

Who knows, ha ha. But in all honesty, I started the AU chapters because I knew I would feel little pressure to work on them regularly. In other words, if the inspiration strikes me I might crank out a chapter or two, but if it doesn't, I don't think there is a problem in leaving things as they are, or letting it sit for another year or two.

It was super fun. If you wrote another book of side stories of them doing deep dungeon exploration I would read it in a heart beat.
