I'm sure you're all getting a little angry at me, despite all the encouraging responses, but I will have to delay chapter 101 again. This time I'm delaying it for two weeks, both to be sure I won't fail a deadline again, and also to give myself a few days to relax and cool off. I'm not sure how much you people believe me, but repeated failures like this are as bothersome to me as they are to you.

I'll make another post soon to show off some of the work by my fans, in order to distract you all from my own failures... err, I mean, so that their effort can be properly appreciated.

Anyway. Sorry people. I'll try to do better in the future.

I’ve waited longer for worse fics. I have faith that you’re working on it, so I don’t mind it too much.

This is the home strech take your time. The end of a story is one of the hardest and most important things to write. Just keep at it! :)

"Repeated failures" - you mean, repeated delivery of awesome chapters? Please take all the time you need!

Simon

You are clearly communicating what's up and that you are on it. As far as I'm concerned you can't call that a failure.

Adrien Matricon

Please go at your own pace and don't mind delays. I wouldn't be happy if you forced yourself to write something you're not fully satisfied with just to meet arbitrary deadlines. Releases are one-time things, but what you've written will stay for years to come

Brent

Time after time I have found great series that flubbed the ending. Take all the time you need to make sure you are happy with it. I'd rather wait a year for a great ending than a week for a mediocre one.

Take the time you need, we are not angry at you ! I'm starting be ashamed to be a patreon by-chapter and not by-month. :p

Anonymous

Not angry at all. You are very good about keeping us informed, and the story is outstanding. Just let us know what is happening, and everything will be good.

Anonymous

Not angry at the slightest. So long as you're satisfied with the chapter when you put it up, I know it'll be another fantastic chapter to read. Take your time and realize your dream!

Seadrake

Take your time and be happy with what you write. It's been a great series so far and you'd have to try pretty hard to flub it up now. Do your best and we will love it.

Funny, but it seems to me that you need to read this more than MoL readers - http://journal.neilgaiman.com/2009/05/entitlement-issues.html (Of course, yours and GRRM's situation aren't exactly the same, but still...)

Said nobody ever about a great author: "They sure could meet a deadline".

Domagoj: *is constantly hard on himself for not making deadlines* Everyone: you're doing amazing!! It doesn't matter how long it takes!! We love u!! ❤❤❤

No worries, Domagoj. Taking extra time with the last chapters is a good move. Good luck these two weeks and again, thanks for keeping the lines of communication open. (:

Your perfectionism and continuous misunderstanding of deadlines is as endearing, as it is infuriating. ;) I am sorry for not being a patron, as a true fan of your work should've been, but still, as I understand the mechanics of this Patreon, you are paid per chapter, nor monthly. The only person, that is getting significiantly influenced by your delays is you, because it means more time before you get paid. Now, your book, your story is a luxury. I'd say it is very important and beautiful work of art, but that's no bread and people aren't starving without it. Therefore, the only person the most impacted by your speed of writing is yourself. While I get self-criticism, I would also ask you to be fair to yourself.

As much, as delays may hurt your bottom line, or potentially disappoint some small (non-existent) minority of fans, or lead to writer's block there is also real possibility of burnout, which is a more frequent cause of writer's block. You stressing yourself, despite what people say doesn't help you. Your fans trust you, they are ready to wait to see the labour of work, more than 100 chapters long to come to fruition. Your story is important and needs all time, that it needs. No less no more. And you, need your time as well. Whether it is to work, to rest, to research or to daydream. You *need* this time. You deserve this time. Take it and don't worry about it.

I trust you enough not to worry about estimated time of completion or the quality of your work. What you've already done with this story was more than I could ever hope for. Excuse me for barging in into this comment section, I just think it needs to be said and repeated enough times, until you, Mr. Kurmaic, trust us as much, as we trust you. Stay awesome!

Hey dude, wondered about the delay, found out you had a Patreon, and saw this post. No, people aren't angry with you. MoL is about 3k pages long. You spent 8 years on it. It's one of the best books I've ever read, and you should definitively take the time to edit it someday and turn it into a real book, because damn, it's good. The last chapters are the most crucial part of the whole thing, and even if you've planned everything from the beginning to the end, the story likely evolved overtime, at least a little bit. So even if it takes you months to finish it, I don't think anyone would care -- as long as it's an ending YOU, the author, feel satisfied with. Keep up the good work on this fantastic story.

How goes production of the newest chapter? And yep, no anger here. The end taking a while is expected.

So-so. Not going to guarantee anything, but I'm hoping it will be ready on time.
