There is something incredibly twisted that I love about the way they had O Holy Night playing while Klaus was massacring the 12 hybrids and Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas playing when he killed Carol Lockwood. I think what Stefan was most upset about wasn't so much that Damon had spent the whole day with Elena after saying he'd let her go, but that he realized that they'd slept together. Which is one reason I got a little annoyed with Caroline again in that one scene. Not so much for more or less telling Stefan that Elena had slept with Damon (she didn't actually say the words, but she might as well have said them) -- I get that Stefan is as much her friend as Elena is, and I understand if she couldn't keep something like that from him -- but if she wasn't going to be able to keep it a secret, she shouldn't have promised Elena she wouldn't say anything until Elena had a chance to figure out what the sire bond meant about her feelings and speak to Stefan herself.

Great reaction. Stefan was upset because he found out Damon and Elena had slept together. I always think it was bad of Caroline to let it out that way. She intended for Stefan to know otherwise she wouldn't have said what she did. It wasn't her business to tell Stefan. I like this episode but it's very choppy. Some conversations weren't needed and some things really needed greater explanation. This is a good episode, had it have been done better it could have been a fantastic episode. They try to hold things back to create a twist, but instead it creates confusion. I feel awful for Tyler in this episode and hated what Hayley did. All that unsiring just to trick Klaus into killing 12 people. You can see it is practically killing Damon doing the right thing because neither of them want him to do what he's having to do.

I think it was so unfair of Stefan to expect Damon to immediately cut Elena loose knowing how he feels about her. I know he wants to break them up and return Elena to her "original factory settings" but he really needs to give Damon a break. And Caroline needs to shut her mouth. I think she's beginning to fall for Stefan and that's why she's feeling so protective towards him, but she's being a really crappy friend to Elena.
