As for the rest of the trailer-- I'd say they've nailed the character as she has been portrayed in comics over the last twenty years. It's all there-superhuman law, acerbic humour. It's not a huge surprise that the tone looks to be very Sex in the City/Bridget Jones orientated. I've got mixed feelings about that--I think it's an appropriate beat for the series, but it'll be hard for it not to sink into cliche and well- worn tropes. If the show can come up with a new angle on dating disasters and lovelife woes that's funny, then I'm all for it.
It looks like there's going to be plenty of old fashioned ass-kicking inbetween the melodrama, though! Tinder won't be the only thing that's getting swiped right. We caught a brief glimpse of Titania who looks to be in some kind of powered-up suit (I guess she might be getting supersized in later episodes). It's also very exciting to see Tim Roth back as Emil Blonsky/The Abomination. The cameo in Shang Chi was great, although he appeared to be tight with Wong, indicating that he's no longer a baddie? Hopefully She-Hulk will get to the bottom of what all that is about. Intriguing to see if the rumoured guest appearances from Charlie Cox and Kristen Ritter as Daredevil and Jessica Jones pan out, too. Always good to see Mark Ruffalo as Professor Hulk too. It'll be interesting to see how they handle the origin story-is Jen still going to be shot by mobsters? There was a brief glimpse of a character who looked very Buck Bukowski there at the beginning, which is someone I never expected to see turn up in the MCU!

I'm excited for it, definitely. A lot more now that I've seen the trailer! It's taken so long to get here that I was starting to think it might never happen. I've heard a lot of negative reaction to it, and it's quite interesting--also depressing-to see that the divisive discourse which usually accompanies She-Hulk whenever she has a comic out has spilled into mainstream discourse. I've come across endless twitter threads from people arguing about the same old stuff:"she should have bigger muscles! Smaller! She should be funny! The tone should be more serious!" Etc, etc. What did you guys think?

I agree. Honestly Tatiana Maslany is 100% nail this character. Its 9 episodes so hopefully the pacing wont be much of an issue as well. Its definitely got that comedic vibe going on. Hopefully we get a clip or something with her breaking the 4th wall, that’d be dope asf. And the for the CGI, I hope it gets better by its release date. Lol not gonna lie. Im also kinda tired of professor hulk as well lol. Hopefully we get somewhat a comic accurate version of Titania. For some reason it killed me that they actually showed Frog Man in the trailer 😂. Also, hell yeah, Tim Roth is back baby! But overall fingers crossed, that this show will be decent. 🤞🏽🤞🏽🤞🏽

Only really have a few gripes, main thing with regards to the design of Jen's Hulk form is I feel their take on her is a touch... lanky? Her limbs just look a little disproportionately long? Might just be me? And while she's amply muscular it's more shown off as tone and I really feel she should be a bit more cut, have a touch more definition to her musculature akin to Byrne's take on the character.

I’ll point out if the show is successful, we’re more likely to get “She Hulk goes bezerk and Hulks Out!” type episode… if only to prove “There! Satisfied? She’s really not like that at all!”

Lol a C-list marvel villain. The dude in a frog suit. Thats who we saw in the trailer

Naturally I'm curious how good they make it, but I have never been hopeful that I will enjoy it. There will be grumbling! Even if it's perfectly wonderful for what it is, it still takes a potential Jekyll & Hyde premise and turns it into Jekyll & bigger green CGI Jekyll, which will always fall short of a Jekyll & Hyde story for me. But I know it's been like that in the comics pretty much since 1981 for Shulkie. This is all Morbius's fault, for "curing" her in Savage issue #11! Damnit, Jared Leto! Frankly, I am hoping for a guest spot from him just on that account.

The character could be dynamite for TV adaptation. Sex appeal, action, comedy- the only downside for the company is that it looks pretty expensive in terms of sfx. But at least Marvel commands a decent budget.

It looks like a dumpster fire. Marvel has been trash since end game.

I watched someone else’s YouTube review of the trailer and they mentioned that something that made her special in comparison to the hulk (besides her being a woman obviously) was the fact that she retained her personality for the most part. Versus Bruce who was completely an id, so she’s definitely a good match for the mcu with everyone who’s quippy and attractive, but I don’t think she brings anything new to the table besides the lawyer scenes. Which is already covered territory with the return of Matt Murdock. I’m still a fan of She Hulk and i’m excited for the series though.

Agent Zero

A VFX artist who worked on the series posted that she started out much bigger and more muscular but Marvel kept telling them to "make her smaller". Way to go Marvel.

I'm just happy to see my favorite green gammazon on screen at last!

I was convinced this show would never happen because of the VFX challenges and because Daredevil and Jessica Jones have already covered a lot of what makes She-Hulk unique. But I guess those are two very different characters at the end of the day.

I think there has been a lack of focus post Endgame, definitely. ATM it's just a collection of characters without much connection to one another largely doing their own thing-- no Avengers movie or Infinity War style event to look forward to. But! Shang Chi good! No Way Home, Multiverse of Madness good! Loki and Wandavision! There's good stuff there for sure.

As somebody else was pointing out here, apparently the VFX artists had to scale down her muscularity. That might account for what you're saying there, I guess.

I agree with no way home but that was really a Sony film. Disney is about pushing woke garbage and trying to squeeze every last dollars out of a dead franchise just like Star Wars. Very sad.

If you look at comics from marvel and Dc they are pushing the same woke trash. Destroying legacy characters. Anime has been destroying dc and marvel combined on sales.

I'm cautiously optimistic. I like what I see from the trailer other than the CGI. But that's not a deal breaker for me. What I'm curios about is will they ever introduce Red She Hulk/Red Hulk. And If they do will it be Betty Ross or somebody else?

Who knows? Anything could happen! I read a rumour a while ago that Liv Tyler was going to be in the show, but probably not.
