This is a Level 5 Patreon Tier Movie Request from Ian Forbes!

This was honestly so quirky, wild, and silly and I had no idea what to expect at all-- but it was definitely something 😂 Definitely entertaining though!

NOTE: You follow along with your own copy of the movie; I have a little timer right at the beginning where it counts down and shows the word "play" when I myself start playing the movie. I also have a timer synced throughout the movie so you're also in sync the whole time! If you don't have your own copy, then you'll have pretty much no idea what's happening!

This movie is a huge camp classic among actual hackers for its absurdly inaccurate portrayal. Since the Internet was just beginning to become a major public thing, and actual hackers were a niche subculture who most others considered dangerous criminals, there wasn’t exactly much opportunity to do research, assuming they ever cared much about realism. Many hackers today name the movie as what first got them interested in it, since who wouldn’t want to be as cool as these guys?

Yeah, this is one of my favorite “technology doesn’t work/look like this” movies. This movies says “It’s the 90s” in big capital letters; has an awesome soundtrack; our leads, “Crash (Override) and (Acid) Burn”, would end up married and then divorced; and Fisher Stevens’ insanely over-the-top performance, in a film full of insane caricatures just makes this fun watching over and over again for me. Looking forward to rewatching this alongside the reaction later today.

Haha, fun to see you make pretty much all the same comments, Sam. 😄. Figured this would be a good tangent and glad you enjoyed it.
