We're always living during historic moments, but 2020 seems to take the cake for "experiencing history". With a pandemic, an upcoming election, BLM protests, abhorrent scenes of police violence from said protests, increased interest in ideologies like police and/or prison abolition, and damned near-daily draggings of various tone-deaf celebrities, there are also powerful conversations about rape culture happening. Whatever America looked like at the beginning of 2020, it will never look that way again. The past few months have been a rollercoaster ride of emotions for me, and I'm sure I'm not the only person who feels that way. Taking social media breaks, donating resources, writing a lot, reading tons of fiction, and dabbling in my hobbies is keeping me mentally healthy. I hope you've been taking care of yourself as well.
