I want to focus on this project- I wanted to continue the raptor/parasaur thing immediately but this should be next. It's just a hard one for me to work on for a couple reasons... one is that like... it's a mess. And unfortunately a lot of my animations end up getting messy (like, multiple files of the main animation that I don't name clearly, local versions of everything, that kind of thing). Since I've recently learned about using linked libraries, I'm going to use linked libraries for stuff and try to clean existing things up so it's easier to manage and more organized.
I've already made the main file for the lube bottle prop with proper bone shapes and stuff.
And I've also switched the dragon model to be a linked library version of the model- the pig... for this particular shot it's going to have to be a special version of the pig. After this shot is finished I'm going to make a main file for the pigs so each shot after that the pigs will link to that version.
This should make it way more manageable to split each scene into a different .blend file (which I do sometimes but ends up annoying doing it the dumb way without library linking where you have to update/change everything in each file manually when you make a change to stuff)
The cool thing about link libraries and characters is that if you want to add a feature to a rig, it'll propagate across all files that link to that character's file. I added a bunch of lattices to the dragon so the snout/tongue and deform the pigs butt.
The other reason this shot has been so hard for me is like... I get frustrated because I see spots where it's subpar, I fix it, then I see more small problems that might be seen as twitchy but it's never going to be perfect... so I'm just going to call the character motion "done," fix the rest of the more egregious clipping, get on to finalizing the soft bodies/other dynamics and then testing fluids so I can finally move on to the next shot.
It's just one of those shots that's too far done to scrap but also annoying and a bit stressful to work on because there's so much that can end up looking janky or bad. Hopefully with fluids and when it's finally rendered it will look okay!
Really hoping after this shot the other ones won't be so rough...
I really want to redo the dragon's rig to use my custom rigify workflow but honestly... it's fine for now. Next time I use the V-rex model I'll redo the rig to take advantage of the nice rigify things. And it'll give me some time to experiment with a rigify dragon, I've already done some experimentation re-doing Jett's rig.
I'd like to have him ready this month as a model download.
One thing I want this rig to be capable of is more easily also being bipedal- there's a couple instances where it'd be nice if he could be on two legs (like penetrating something/someone). so... it should be feasible to pose him that way.
(ignore the lack of eyes and teeth, this was earlier on testing things!)
Also I re-did the dong to be more detailed/horse like. I bought this model and retopologized it so I could delete the old dong and attach the new one.
You can check it out here! It's a really nice model. It's high poly and super detailed, lovely textures too.

Anyway, the current WIP of the rimming scene is attached below.
