This is a tangent I went on while trying to finish up the story board/animatic thing for the next part of the raptors and parasaur thing. I'll probably be writing a post right after this that goes into more detail on that but this one is about the models.
The short version- I wanted to re-do these characters using rigify and my own custom rigging tools so they're easier to work with and have better wrist twist/neck setups (I could never get my own wrist twist to work as good as the rigify one).
Here's a test in the environment the one where they have s*x takes places (the Raptors' room). It's wip, I'd love to have some posters on the wall, maybe some scaley babe pin ups, idk if I can think of a silly idea for a poster I'll put it in here somewhere). Also there's no trim where the walls meet the ceiling, there will be though eventually.
I've attached some videos (one time lapse posing, turn tables of the characters and models in zip files). They should work just fine if you append the '|C|(character name)' collection into your scene but if you want to modify the metarigs (and regenerating the rigs) you'll need to use my custom constraints add-on and the folder containing the constraint link file needs to be in the same directory your blend file is in.
The rigify custom constraints add-on is here:
https://github.com/velocirection/Rigify-Custom-Constraints-Utility/tree/main
(I actually need to update it with another tool for custom bendy bone stuff since the parasaur's rig uses that!)
Anyway, I apologize for it being like... a long time since the last time I posted a model. And these aren't new characters but they represent a lot of milestones in a customized Blender rigify workflow. I wouldn't recommend using these "in production" since Jake and Tyler's rigs are missing features (Jake's tailhole isn't rigged yet, Tyler doesn't have blink/squint/lip actions yet) but they're good enough to pose around a scene for layouts.
I would like to port my other characters into this rigify-based workflow, that'll be an on-going thing (I think next character I'd do is Jett or the bronto) that way they'll be a bit more useful... because like, going back to some of the old rigs I made is rough.
