Yeah, didn't get as much done this week in terms of raw writing as I'd hoped, but things should be still good for grinding out stuff for this week.

Not much else to report; we're still making solid progress, same as before :)

The reason why we didn't make the deadlines originally is because the other things I needed to do (or Triangulate or Frouge) ended up taking far, far longer than we expected. Just as a reminder, I don't only do the writing, I also do the following; - Game design documents (global/overall ones) - Story continuity sheets - Character design/information sheets - Marketing - Individual sheets of "what assets we need" for programming, art, audio, voicework, etc. - Patreon rewards/emails (all done by hand, no automation) - Giving voice direction to/writing down voice direction instructions and character bios etc. - Chopping up the voice lines, picking specific takes, etc. - Making the levels/maps for the game - Plugging in the cutscenes for the game, flags, continuity between cutscenes - Bugtesting the game - Going over design stuff with the team in calls as we test stuff out in real time - Sharing coming up with level mechanics with the team - Making video mockups for our audio guys, for game mechanics for our programmer/artist, etc. - Listing/categorizing a lot of stuff not mentioned here (bug lists, etc.) - Handling any legal stuff (contracts etc.) - Research into things being accurate in-game (historical events, science, medicine, etc.) - Money distribution to everyone and making sure tax stuff is accurate for everyone - Marketing and networking with companies and social media people Because of that, if something ends up taking longer than expected on my end, everything else on that list grinds to a halt as I take care of the "problem issue", whatever it may be, and the same goes for programming/art for Frouge and Triangulate respectively. --------------------- The other thing is that cutscenes in general, have been left until the very end. This is because I needed most of the art and programming done on the game before I could start implementing/writing cutscenes, since it'd be pretty disastrous if I wrote a scene where the characters were talking about the nearby scenery or a nearby enemy before they were completed, only to have the final design end up differently (since Triangulate and Frouge have free reign of how they design things, I'm not their boss nor are they mine). Such a thing would mean having to not only redo writing, but redoing the voicework also, costing us money, which is exactly what's happening with having to toss out a few thousand dollars of voicework on the Electric Level because of having to redo the script per gameplay/art/etc. changes that've happened since that first demo. ----------- Hopefully that clarifies all of it!
