Princess Paladin

No, you can't see a weakness in his eye. He stated he has the "Ultimate Eye" that lets him see weaknesses and the ideal course of action to take in battle. That's a tattoo of an ouroboros (a snake eating its own tail) which all the homunculi have. Also, it's "Homunculus" (plural, meaning more than one, is "homunculi"). Envy is the shapeshifting one, and he is always referred to with male pronouns. (Also envoy is pronounced "on-voi")! Sorry for nitpicking, you just seemed to have some stuff confused. XD

Shawn Lester

Envy's gender is actually ambiguous. I've heard both "he" and "she" used to describe Envy. Since "he's" a shapeshifter, it makes sense that "her" gender doesn't really matter. Any other reason I give would be a spoiler, but yea, either pronoun would be correct.

Princess Paladin

No. He is never, ever, ever, EVER addressed with female pronouns. You can make the ambiguity claim if you like, there's evidence to support being androgynous or genderless, and I am inclined to make the same conclusion. But there are NO female pronouns used in-series to refer to Envy. If "he" doesn't sit well with you, you can say "it". That's more accurate than "she" and "her". :P

Another great reaction, thanks guys. In this episode they introduced 5 new characters (including Shao-mei,) as well as Xingese Alkahestry used by Mei-chang. With all of that, it's sure to be a pivotal episode. So it's fair to call it a 'new season.' Envy is a 'he,' but is a shapeshifter. Any true gender is at this point, unknown and/or not applicable.

Princess Paladin

I don't doubt it at all. I've had to explain it enough times in the past to enough people that I don't assume everyone has the same level of proficiency with English that I do.

There are no seasons in FMA Brotherhood but you're right in saying that it can be broken down in different parts . Basically those different "parts" match the opening and ending credits so when those change you can pretty much consider that you're in a new "part" . It is still very linear but you'll notice that the first opening's atmosphere matched the first 15 episodes very well with z sense of melancholy , You can say that the first part was all about introducing alchemy and showing its physical and moral limitations . The first part kinda aimaed at making the viewer feel powerless with what happened to Nina or Hughes or Martel (the girl inside Alphonse) , that is essential in the way our main characters develop . Also the characters introduced in this episode (Ling and Mei) are VERY important to the rest of the show so it's not really a filler ^^

Scar's brother was a scholar of both Amestris' Alchemy and Xing's Alchehestry, and he gifted Scar those tattoos.
