FYI, there were some mid-credit scenes (just in case you wanted to see them). As for Michael Bay films and the backlash … one can’t fault that he has the ability to deliver slick looking, high energy popcorn films (he got his start on commercials and music videos so it’s easy to see how he translates that to his feature films). And there’s certainly a place for them and I enjoy watching much of his work … but for me (my opinion here so disagreement is okay) there’s usually a shallow foundation he’s working from and what one can be sure of in his films are: The military looking cool, a preponderance of American flags, shooting most daylight scenes during the golden hour, using similar camera shots/movements (specifically his love of the rotating camera pointing up at the main characters often while a helicopter flies overhead), and the inclusion of as many attractive models/actresses wearing form-fitting clothing as possible … often making sure they’re wearing photo shoot levels of makeup no matter the occasion or reality of the situation. The films are often fun, and I find the fewer things that are questioned when it comes to science, physics, or logic, the more you can enjoy his work. And as someone who grew up in the 80s watching the cartoon, the best movie is still the 1986 animated one, with Bumblebee coming in second and this first film third in terms of lore and respect to the source material (for as much as that’s worth to a franchise born from selling toys … awesome, fun toys). The sequels are a rollercoaster in terms of quality and continuity (it’s comical how they will keep changing when and how the Transformers came to Earth) but I’m down to watch the reactions as they come so hope you continue to enjoy making them.
