The thing everyone seems to miss is that Gwen and her dad proved Miguel is wrong about canon events. Gwen was told her dad would become captain and die. That will no longer happen and their universe isn't falling apart. This is what Gwen is referring to near the end when she says that Miles showed her "anything is possible." She's not just talking about her getting along with her dad now. She's saying the story can unfold in any way outside of canon.

I think my idea is a little out there, but after hearing your guy's discussion at the end about anomalies specifically. If you think about it, wouldn't the entire spider society/elite spider squad, that Miguel created to specialize in dealing with multiversal anomalies and disruptions in canon events, be an anomaly itself. Miguel created his spider squad and dimension travelling watch because of the super collider that Miles stopped, but if Miles is an anomaly, that shouldn't have happened. Miguel wouldn't have done what he has been doing if it wasn't for Miles, which would make Miguel an anomaly because if Miles is the original anomaly, wouldn't that subsequently turn everyone else's decisions (that are at least in some way affected by Miles) into anomalies as well. Like Mayday, Peter B probably wouldn't have reconciled with his MJ and had a baby if it wasn't for Miles, which Peter B literally says he did because of Miles. Maybe I'm thinking about it too hard or I missed something that could disprove my idea, but then again Miguel is the self-appointed protector of the Spider-verse, who doesn't always like what he does, but "knows" he has to do it, maybe that it canon, maybe it isn't.

I hope they do acknowledge that in the 3rd film because she did prove that canon events can be prevented, not disrupted. For all Miguel knows, they either happen or the universe collapses entirely. he could be holding out more information too, but he's so hyper focused on every story playing out mostly the same way.
