If I can suggest something totally off the wall for content, would you ever consider reading and discussing Tolkien's essay "On Fairy Stories" its his explination of what role fairy tales and the like play. I bring it up, because from what I've read about it, it's relevant to the discussion why people prefer this one over the Jim Carrey remake.

Next year you should do more animated Christmas specials. I’m sure James has seen Rudolph and Frosty but there are so many more rare Rankin & Bass Christmas specials that neither of you may have seen.

This is still my favorite Grinch adaption. I recently showed this to my 2 year old niece about a week ago and she loved every minute of it, she was all in when he was stealing everything, lol. For me what makes it superior to the other Grinch films is I find the Who's very likable, I think all the Who's in the other films are just awful and so unlikable, I don't care about them, I'm rooting for the Grinch to do it and your not suppose to. He's suppose to be the villain until the end, he's never nice to Max and yeah he literally takes everything, down to the ice cubes. The Who's aren't pushy or mean they are just being themselves and this is the only adaption where they don't need to be told the message, these Who's don't even notice and I find that more inspirational, they just come out and sing. And like the line said we have no idea why the Grinch hates Christmas or the Who's in this one, they keep it a mystery and I like that. Also even though I like Cindy in the Jim Carry version they make her look very dumb for not knowing it's him when he's stealing the tree, lol. She knows what he looks like, has spent time with him, at least this Cindy was 2.
