An old classic (here in europe anyways) that you could watch if you haven't already is Cinema Paradiso. It's not a musical and it's in italian but it's so beautiful! :)

A great film! Best Picture Oscar winner for 1965. By the way, the way the Von Trapp family were real people. I’m so glad you liked it and I am one who is voting for more older films!

You could try the rest of the Rogers and Hammerstein collection? Carousel, State Fair, South Pacific, their version of Cinderella. In regards to the Von Trapps, these days they make an excellent Pilsner out of their beer garden in Vermont. And I am not even joking. A little south of Stowe if you ever head that way.

Love this film! If you want to do some older musicals you could try doing some of the golden-era Hollywood movies - like Singing in the Rain.

My favorite musical and one of my favorite movies of all time! So happy you guys enjoyed it too. There was an amazing Oprah episode for the 45 year anniversary. Its worth a watch if you want to know more behind the scenes stuff, and the real Von Trapps are on it as well!
