They’re all good options, for different reasons. Hamilton is a good gateway drug though, and I recommend watching with captioning on if you do Hamilton because, well, you’ll find out

Kakazu

I'm so glad you put Sweeny Todd on here it is really good.

Love them all! Voted Hamilton but hopefully one day you watch Les Mis - one of the greats

When you eventually do Phantom, watch the 25th Anniversary version at the Royal Albert Hall. Do Not watch the Gerard Butler movie, he really doesn't have the voice for Phantom.

Angelic_Wings

I love Les Miserables, phantom of the opera and Sweeney. Please try and do 10th anniversary of Les Miserables. I know everyone loves Hamilton but it’s not my fave. Love it but not my fave.

They're all fantastic! Not to be too dramatic (I'm a theatre kid) but Phantom of the Opera changed my life. Absolute chills every time! ✨

Linda Wightman

I voted Sweeny Todd as I love Tim Burton and Johny Depp and it is really good.

Also, these are the movies, so I can't promise we can do these other performances. This poll is about the musical movies.

SOMONE VOTE FOR West Side Story lol. I low key want to watch that and it is one of the few of these I haven't seen.

Angelic_Wings

Victor Victoria!!!! If you want to do movie musical you should do Victor Victoria! Julie Andrews being epic for a start.

Kristin Carter

Do them all! (not to be too demanding or anything 🤣🤣 that's reasonable, right?)

whitenoisereacts

Was honestly planning on it. Just wanted to see what ya'll thought! That's usually how these polls go. It's a decision of what comes first, but we will watch them all eventually.

Oh! The movie version of Fiddler on the Roof (1971) is another great one! Chaim Topol is amazing as Tevye

Effie

Ohh well I'm an oldie at heart so 'West Side Story' though I would have preferred to see Chicago or Sound of Music on here. For study purposes I think 'Singin' in the Rain' is a must see. It was quite good and it really helped me understand the shift in cinema when it moved from silent to talkies :)

Linda Wightman

Agree Jonathan would love to see them react to films like a street car named desire cat on a hot tin roof and any Hitchcock film would be fine with me.

Effie

Ohhh yes 'A street car named desire' forgot about that one!

Rachel Recuero

Hamilton or les mis for sureee

Fritz

West side story is definitely the best one cinematography wise out of all of these, and I honestly think its the gold standard for how to film a musical. I love the music of sweeney Todd more than anything so I usually watch the 80's recording so that I can here people hit those sick notes as intended but as a film its pretty great, especially visually. Les miserables is interestingly shot and I will just stop myself further because I don't want to rant. They reused some Harry potter sets for it which I always found funny. Hamilton of course is lovely. I mean what could I say about Hamilton that hasn't been said. The Phantom movie is bad in a really confusing way. Like there are things that don't make sense on a thematic, and technical level. And then there's the singing. Lets just say, its a good thing the 25th anniversary addition exist.

You need to do Little Shop of Horrors. Great musical

Linda Wightman

Love little shop of horrors seen it multiple times but still could watch it again.

Effie, another great one...Singin' in the Rain. Gene Kelly was one of my big crushes as a young girl.

If you plan on watching Phantom of the Opera please watch the 25th anniversary instead of the movie, I hate the movie 😬 plus Sierra’s voice is absolutely stunning in the stage version

Kennith Steele

The Sound of Music is a must see musical if you haven't already seen it.

jonathan Edge

I second that . They need to have a little fun to counter the serious nature of the films they watch .

Effie

So glad I'm not the only one who thinks so :)

jonathan Edge

I'm open to seeing it again . We need them to hear and witness the talent that is Julie Andrews .

Fritz

Not only a great musical but a really well made movie which doesn't always happen with movie musicals.

miah.sun

omg Hamilton! So excited

Débora Silva

Omg Sweeney Todd!! My favourite! You really need to watch it. I know all the songs by heart hahaha

Edie

Jessi
