This movie was not as good as I remembered tbh. But still a solid epic and the action and set design is amazing! Enjoy!

The movie works when it's about the conflict between the Greeks and the Trojans . Also the conflict between Achilles not fighting and accepting his destiny works too . When it gets sidetracked with the romance between Paris and Helen and Achilles and King Priam's niece it falls apart .

Orlando Bloom i feel is trying too hard when he's acting with the likes of the late Peter O'Toole , Brian Cox , Brendan Gleeson , and Eric Bana . Also this is not one of James Horner's most memorable scores that he composed . It repeats themes constantly while the music depicting the drama and action of the whole conflict works .

Hey guys, another great reaction! A film I think you guys would enjoy a lot if you haven't seen it already is 'V For Vendetta'. A very bad ass and emotional movie.

This is one of my favorites of all time. Whatever issues one can critique, anytime Brad Pitt is on the screen, the faults are trumped by his performance.

I’m really glad you guys watched Troy. I’ve always really enjoyed watching it too.

If you guys haven't seen it... I would recommend Black Hawk Down. Eric Bana is great in it and it's directed by Ridley Scott. It's a great movie in my opinion.

I really enjoyed this reaction! Personally, I think Helen deserved a happy ending. If we go by the film alone, she was married off to a much older man when she was just 16. I'm sure she had a miserable life of sexual servitude - I don't blame her for leaving. If we go by the Iliad (which I admit I read many years ago and am rusty on), her life has been a series of abductions and rescue efforts due to her "irresistible beauty". It's unclear whether she was abducted by Paris or left by "choice" (or some combination of the two - perhaps he abducted her and she eventually stopped struggling, seeing some opportunity to somehow better her circumstances by going willingly), however if she did leave by choice it's not entirely clear why that, in itself, would be such a bad thing - much less why it would have the repercussions that it did. If she wanted to leave her husband for another man, that is an example of a woman in ancient times (whose choices were limited) doing something outside the realm of what was usually possible for women. Certainly outside the realm of Helen's usual experiences of simply being abducted and "won". So perhaps the problem lies not with her choosing (or not) to leave with Paris, but with the idea that she was a possession who could be won and/or stolen back via an act of war. I don't think we need to read the Iliad nor watch this film through the lens of the society it reflects. I found this to be an interesting read, if you're interested! It's about the depiction of Helen in ancient lit and the readings of her in the present day: https://www.newstatesman.com/culture/2014/04/slut-shaming-helen-troy
