Chapter 8: 'Descendants'

As Volo ushered in a new dawn, Rei stayed by his side as a slave, ever obedient and tending to his master's feet on a whim. Rei had learnt to love his duties and could no longer imagine a life without being underneath Volo's feet each day.

However, as the centuries passed, in the pursuit of the wordly knowledge, Volo found that eventually he would and already had discovered all there was to within this world. His immortality and ascendance as absorbed from Arceus would eventually leave him feeling unaccomplished and unsatisfied, something he would never have imagined when he begun his pursuit thousands of years ago. 

With nothing left for him within this world, he had set his sights out towards the Cosmos and discovered thousands of other worlds, realities! Worlds with Pokemon that resembled Alien-beings and other transcendent beings with long Blonde Hair. *hint*

With a reignited spark, Volo departed from this world, but not before leaving descendents whom would govern and cultivate this world in his absence.

But Rei, who and had accompanied Volo for the centuries, was left behind. Placed in the care of his many descendants from generation to generation, continually fulfilling the same role as a perpetual foot slave. Although distraught at the disappearance of his master, Rei channeled the same fervor by servicing his new masters feet, dedicating his all to keeping their soles comfortable and clean. 

In the modern day, he spends his day to day at the soles of Cynthia, whom he carries out his duties to perfection, running his tongue up and down her feet to bring endless amounts of satisfaction to both him and herself. He had accustomed himself to the many descendants who eventually came forth, as he was passed from Master to Master. 

However, each night as he curls up to sleep beneath Cynthia's toes, he'll never fail to shed a tear and wonder, will his original Master ever come back for him?
