0.5.0-prerelease-1 (Patreon)
Content
Alright, so in order to inform about the development progress and to give an idea on what changes a new prerelease contains, I plan to write a weekly devlog. Here's the first entry!
From now on, I will address prerelease builds as 0.x.0-prerelease-y where x is the upcoming version and y is the current week of the development cycle.
I spent last weekend mostly dealing with reported bugfixes and creating the public hotfix build 0.4.1. Luckily there were barely any further bug reports after that so I could focus on developing more content! The only other complaint I received and addressed from the latest testers, was the wish to have an additional level of folder nesting within the game ZIP file.
I finally created a stub for the Happiness Room, which can now be opened. With this, all rooms in the first chamber are now openable, yay! However, I have not implemented any interactions in the room yet. But you can have a look at Aura and Alicia's usual bickering!
After that I mostly spent the time on detailing out my plans for the Refugee Camp. As mentioned in my project plan post, I plan to add the camp in the upcoming week. I think I have it now far enough to start working on it and I hope it will be ready for the next prerelease build. This weekend, I will start with the preliminary quest that will unlock the Refugee Camp.
On the technical side, there has been a new release of RPGMaker MZ (v1.2.0) to which I upgraded. According to their changelog, animations should now run smoother.
Finally, I also worked out the mechanics for a summonable slime companion. You will be able to learn the spell from an NPC in the Refugee Camp.
There are also some minor improvements throughout that you can see in the changelog.
