I live in Atlanta now and the city’s Civil War history is mostly paved over, but at Kennesaw Mountain north of Atlanta there was a battle in the woods on a 45 - degree slope. You can almost feel the terror when you walk those woods. The claustrophobic nature of the fight, the difficulty in keeping their footing in that tangle.

Here in Cincinnati on the Ohio Kentucky border we have a ton of underground railroad sites. I grew up going on field trips to them. We also have a ton of native American sites as well including serpentine wall and many burial mounds. I am a history super need lol.
