Hi!

I'm going to start my work on Sylvanas Windrunner. She won my last poll by a straight margin of just one vote, amazingly beating Minthara in the last days. As usual, I need your opinion on the pose I should choose for her. I added the usual mix of somewhat traditional poses and a couple of other ones that would be new to this character. There are already other good models of Sylvanas, and they're all rather similar in terms of pose and action. I can't make the same thing that they did.

Here you have some options, and also a brief description of her from Wikipedia:

[...] As the Banshee Queen of the Forsaken, Sylvanas' already incredible leadership skills have only been honed and perfected - she is fully capable of rallying people to her cause, and, while cold and brutal, she is a ruler with the undying loyalty of her people.

For all of her skills, Sylvanas is highly reckless and strident, and she has a tendency to allow anger to control her actions, which often cause her to rush into combat with no thought for her own or others’ safety. Her ranger skills were, and are, without equal, but her thoughtlessness may yet spell her end.

As she still possesses her high elven body, Sylvanas has the heightened senses of all elves, as well as the grace and speed.

Pose 4! As someone who practices archery myself, I always love shooting poses, but I’m also picky about the details, so I’ll write a few pointers for your consideration 😅 Typically when shooting a longbow, the arrow rests on the knuckle of the index finger of the hand holding the bow (although some, notably Mongolian horseback archers and Native Americans would favor the thumb rest). The bow is held by the weaker hand while the stronger hand draws the string, so a right- handed archer will hold the bow in the left hand. The most common way for the primary hand is to pull the string back with three fingers (index finger above the arrow, middle and ring finger below it). When aiming, the thumb touches the cheeckbone close to the ear, elbow is held high, forearm in line or above the arrow. When loosing the arrow, the archer simply straightens the three fingers.

Even though pose 4 probably won't win, I really appreciate your input on this. When I was posing the model, I had a big feeling someone would point to the correct way of holding this sort of bow. Also, since this was based on a more "artistic" reference photo, the lady in the original picture probably had as little idea as I do with regards to archery :P

I think the best is pose 1. She looks as though she is surveying her domain and is in control, but ready with her bow just in case.
