From Chris: One of the last Hollywood movies from director Blake Edwards (Breakfast At Tiffany's, the entire Pink Panther franchise), Skin Deep is what I would deem an easygoing adult comedy. It's a vehicle for John Ritter comically playing off a bevy of attractive       young actresses as a serial womanizer, eventually realizing he wants his wife back after their divorce. Kind of like the Pink Panther movies, Edwards lets Ritter do his own thing much like Peter Sellers in that franchise.

Released in 1989, some great gags but the final act kind of peters out. Written by Edwards, it's clear Ritter's character is a thinly-veiled insert for Edwards' own life experiences. There's no way Hollywood would make a movie like this today, feminist critiques would tear it apart.

I never thought I'd say this but Skin Deep has a LOL scene in which the screen goes entirely black for a glow-in-the-dark condom moving all over the place to hilarious results. I can't believe no one since has ripped this scene off.

Fairly decent but dated telecine transfer, if you can overlook the constant halos and ringing. People that can spot ringing will have a much harder time enjoying the presentation. Mill Creek also misses the surround track found on Warner's DVD.
