IT'S STILL TECHNICALLY DECEMBER!

Which, as we all know, is the best kind of December!

And you know what that means, right? You thought you managed to dodge it. You thought you were safe. You thought I wouldn't do it. DID YOU?

Well, too bad, because it's time for MONTHLY MOD REPORT!

So! Without further...

ADOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!

Elves of Stellaris

First of all, we just released a small update (4.7.1) that adds something fun for empires using the Celestial Grace system. If you check out the tooltips of the various modifiers, you may find them a lot more informative/confusing or possibly traumatising if you're familiar with other Paradox games... n_~ All courtesy of our associate Kalyian who has been an incredible creative wellspring for EoS and you may see more of her contributions in the future!

In any case, that's also a great excuse to mention that we've been collecting and reviewing your feedback regarding the system since it's been implemented, and we're so happy that you've been largely enjoying it, but we have also heard that it suffers from a lack of clarity as well as very limited interactivity.
Rest assured, both of those issues are on top of my list of things to address the next time I have an opportunity to work on EoS! The way Celestial Grace is designed makes it quite easily extensible and I'm planning to let it react to a lot more player decisions and internal as well as external factors, to hopefully add a little more fluidity to the Celestial Favor score without making it too random or unmanageable. And speaking of decisions, there's a few  I would like to implement as well - especially decisions regarding the head of state, whose competence and personal virtue accounts for a significant share of Celestial Favor and as such it makes sense that the player character should have a way to work towards a certain image.
Please look forward to/dread it (≖ᴗ≖ )

Also, the update experiments a little with the (recently added to vanilla) species gender mechanics. It should no longer conflict in any way with EoS's internal Gender Policies - if your elves are designated as a monogender or neuter species in empire creation, the policies will not be available and the vanilla system will have full control. For the standard bigender setup, the scripted policies will still be available as before.

As we finally transition to Portraits 2.0, the future might bring more factors and systems that have to do with portraits so-

OH! Wait... I'm not supposed to mention that yet! Hmhmhm... I guess we'll forget that happened for now. To make sure you do, I'll bedazzle you with SOMETHING SHINY!

Is that a bird? Is that a plane? Is that a space croissant? Is that an early outline of what will soon become a heavily armed weapons and fabrication platform that some lesser species vulgarly refer to as "Juggernaut"?

Hmm... Who knows... It seems like Nessanta Shipyards has all kinds of enigmatic plans for it, communicated via her signature magical red marker of DOOM (and sparkles) so it's difficult to say exactly what shape the final product will take...

...but three things we can all be sure of: it will be shiny, it will be glowy, and it will have huge problems finding parking space!

Huh... isn't this a suspiciously brief and to the point Monthly Mod Report? What of our other projects? Is Princess out of her FF14: Endwalker addiction yet? What was that weird cliffhanger back there? What is the meaning of life, the universe and everything?

Oh... if you want to know... you may have to wait until next year! ≧∀≦

Until then, thank you for being here with us for another year and putting up with my not-at-all-sadistic teasing! But don't worry, there is a payoff at the end of it ~o~ So until then, have fun playing Paradox Games! (Because let's not kid ourselves, what else is time off during the holidays good for?)

SOON™
