After many delays, iterations and, at one point, being scrapped completely and redone from scratch, I'm happy to finally present to you the third Utopia Megastructure to be included in the Asari shipset - the Science Nexus!

Just as with the Sentry Array, we made sure that each construction stage of the Nexus roughly corresponds to its in-game description and looks like it has function and purpose.

Stage 1 - Reactor Core

Stage one sets up the central hub which the rest of the facility is built around. The design, reminiscent of a Mass Relay's centrepiece, is no coincidence. This module is actually a huge mass effect generator that will power the entire complex.

Once finished, the gyro in the middle will contain a pretty VFX emitter and it, as well as the surrounding donut structure, will be animated!

Stage 2 - Research Wings

This stage will add an outer ring and four research wings. These facilities will provide living space for the brilliant minds on board, fabricators, quarters, university grounds and various other utilities.

Stage 3 - Black Site Labs

The final and most impressive stage is where all the Fun Science™ is happening! Four additional wings equipped with highly compartmentalised, secure research facilities that will be busy delving into the pseudo, the forbidden, the classified, the ridiculously dangerous and the extremely unwise. Fortunately for the rest of the Science Nexus, should all security failsafes fail, whatever went awry can always be vented into space! Nothing Could Possibly Go Wrong™ !

But want to know my favourite part? ◠‿◠

Each of the Black Site wings is tipped with a habitat, and each contains a different exotic environment full of little wonders! The one you see here is... the least interesting one. Curious about the other three? You'll have to see them in game! ◔_◔

The Science Nexus is coming to The Asari Civilisation in the next couple of days! Until then, here's one more shot of what we have so far, in all its shiny glowy glory!
