Interesting that you mention Frieren not wanting her weakness to get out there for potential enemies in the future, i think that is also one of the reasons she just wants Fern and her in there for the fight against the clone. I do think she really thinks it gives them the best chance but i also think she doesn't want people seeing what she's really capable of.

Cat is outta the bag. They exclaimed surprise as a group to hear weakness as they drew up the plan together. We will see what happens down the road

Frieren busting out the level 6 lighting and fire spells was pretty epic

Serie probably did care about Flamme, and was just trying to hide it. She remembered Flamme's favourite spell, after all. Also, both her and Frieren waited about a thousand years to fulfil their missions: Frieren in defeating the demon king, and Serie beginning to teach humans magic

I was partially right in my prediction. Fern's ability to quickly cast a spell was what allowed her to get a leg up on Frieren. It makes sense that an elf might have a slower response time to something so fast.

Got a point there. All of the spells we see Frieren casted in this episode have not been disclosed in the previously.

That was such a cool battle sequence. It makes sense why Frieren thinks ordinary offensive magic is enough for this era since she's packing powerful spells like that. It was also cool seeing how the conditions had to be just right to exploit Frieren's weakness.

I think Serie cared for Flamme too, a nice detail is that Serie puts her hand out to hold ghost Flamme's hand when she's reminiscing about her. It's beautiful seeing how Flamme had such an impact on both Serie and Frieren despite her relatively short time with them.

I like the way Serie talks about training Flamme "merely on a whim" the same way we see Frieren referring to their journey to kill the demon king as "merely a 10 year adventure".
