It's funny I asked about video games in this ep.
I honestly had no clue about Solo Leveling Arise

Idk if anyone has told you by now so I’m gonna say it just in case. The dungeon Jin Woo was in was a different dungeon than the one on the street. He defeated a completely separate dungeon he summoned with the key (which no one can see) and the one on the street wasn’t defeated so there was the “dungeon break”. So no Jin Woo hadn’t done anything about the other gate lol

All good tho I still enjoyed the reaction just wanted to clear what appeared to have been a little misunderstanding

Fun fact: The color of the monsters’ name tag indicates their strength relative to our MC Red = stronger Yellow/Orange = equal White = weaker

Since you are still relatively new to anime, I can assure you the video game aspect is not unique to Solo Leveling. There are many other anime out there that have similar qualities to them. "So I'm a Spider, so what?", "Overlord", "The Rising of the Shield Hero", "Reincarnated as a Slime", "Danmachi", and so on. This is your first time viewing an anime like this, so it is understandable why it appears unique, but stuff like item drops and inventory and dungeon bosses are not unique to Solo Leveling. The spin on Solo Leveling, in that the characters exist in the real would and have to travel into these dungeon worlds, is somewhat less common of a concept.

i really belive this anime will be great since its one of the most popular manwha/novels there is. and i heard alot of great things from it

It's nice to see someone unfamiliar with the tropes enjoy them for what they are though.

There's a very popular genre in modern anime called isekai which is basically transported to/reborn in another world. You'll see it mentioned quite a bit in reference to many popular anime, and many in that genre will have elements of video games in them. Either because they will have literal RPG mechanics that the characters are aware of or because the character is from the modern world and compares a lot of things to RPGs that they know. The genre has been so rampant in the last decade that many release with some kind of twist to try and subvert the normal "person exploring an RPG world" status quo as well as many that parody the genre. Just useful for you to know if someone says a show is an isekai or see that mentioned you can get the gist.

From what I'm aware, what a lot of the complaints are have been about the lack of some comedic parts that were originally in the novel/manga to break up some of the more serious scenes. As well as some anime original scenes added in that personally I think are very nice and give just actual helpful information and more fleshing out to characters that were/are important to the story, but some people seem to find them as "unnecessary and time wasting". I'm loving the adaptation so far and think it's well worth a watch, especially for those who haven't read the original source material.

So I think you may be a little confused. This is technically not a game. It's real life. People don't respawn. If They die then they die. Jin woo is the only one who basically came back from death He's the only one that's got these game characteristics. So like anytime somebody goes into the dungeon they're risking their actual real life I can see the confusion with his menu screens though

Well during this reaction you were mentioning respawning and resurrection but people in this don't resurrect, a death is a death cause it's all taking place in real life. Jin-woo is the only one who has these game like characteristics cause he completed that quest in the temple I was just making sure you knew it wasn't a game that's all great reaction though Tony!

I will say - I’ve definitely seen people standing around taking videos in very dangerous situations lol
