I can't believe the story has come to an end.
It's always a strange feeling to have the final point in a journey.
This was a great tale to experience in this format.  Wow.

The journey is over...😞

Cyber_JokerWTF

There's a Netflix live version which is ass, you could check it out to laught at it if you want lol.

Honestly it would be funny watching you roast it for how much they completely ruined it

Helpy

Isn't the actor for L a black guy in it too? I remember that from way back lmao

AntonJ0™

That's whatever and the actor did a great job as L. The worst offender is making Light American

Man the Kyrie theme at the very end when they pan over Ryuk was perfect

OK, now when we are done with Death Note, let's go back to easter egg in Death Parade ep 11. In your video it's time 3:04 and 3:48. Remember what Ryuk said? Those who used death note go neither to hell or heaven. Guess he's stuck there. Maybe got employeed, who knows =) PS You definitely unlocked some memories and flashbacks from my childhood when I first saw it. Death Note is a big cultural part within the anime world itself. It was a nice journey!

Soo much nostalgia from death note - love watching peoples reaction to the ending. you said about a live action, its technically not good, but there are some terrible films that make me laugh at how terrible it it, the death note film is like that

Helpy

Guess they didn't have too many choices in actors or budget

Just passing by

Is it me or this version has a bit of a different ending for Misa? I thought she was singing at the end instead of the piano music?

andoryuguen

A couple of things: Light died in the middle of the staircase, a callback to those who use the death note not going to heaven or hell. It's implied Misa commited suicide after Light's passing, by falling off as seen in the credits but it's not 100% confirmed.

Unrelated I guess but I think the only show that just kept getting better from start to finish with a good ending was Breaking Bad. I can't remember any other show.

JujutsuKaisenFan

Someone might have already mentioned this but the following is a scene that wad removed from the show for being too dark/disrespectful: https://youtu.be/htOUUIypFOQ?si=8KFmtYQ1EoCJ3kkF

Given that you asked about other death note related media, there's a japanese live action with a diferent story from the anime and manga that is pretty decent, a netflix live action which is hilariously bad and multiple novels and short stories. The piece of media I would recommend the most is Another Note: the LA BB Murder Cases, which focuses on Naomi Misoras past and how L came to work with her. Another note is writen by Nisioisin the Author of the Monogatari Series(an extremely influential lifgt novel series)

Can do, will write up a bit and look where one can (legally, if still possible) consume them

The fact that Light won once is already surprising to me. Letting bad guy wins isn’t a common thing in storytelling. It is not educative and it can piss a lot of people off. Since I am on L’s side, it is great to see the end of Light ^^

Wow rewatching Light's mental breakdown was painful. I too was rooting for him when I watched DN for the first time several years back. Btw there is a sequel manga chapter for DN and it takes several years after Light's death. A short story with a new protagonist and it explains the state of the world after Kira's passing. It's called the a-Kira Story if you are interested (apparently there are a couple more short stories, if you google Death Note short stories you should be able to see more)

For OST my favourite pieces are Kuroi Light, Light no Theme, Kodoku

Ice

Monogatari/NisiOisN mentioned. We Pog.

Fun reaction, mate! You might want to check the manga ending to see a different type of ending to the series (I like it more, personally). I really like both versions of Death Note and the short stories add more to the lore and world building, I think you'd dig reading those too. Cheers!
