This was the end of Part 1 for the anime and the end of Volume 1 for the novel, so that's why it has such a finale feel to it. Excited for Part 2

The finale of both parts of the show so far have been some of the most impactful episodes of any media I’ve watched. It’s more of an experience than a just a cool episode of a show you enjoy watching. Sawano’s score also perfectly encapsulates those emotions. Can’t wait for Part 2!

Watching them have so much fun by simply pretending to be students is legitimately heartbreaking. Definitely a gut punch episode. The full version of the ending is really nice to hear and as always I love that the visuals are different every episode. It really feels like it's not a routine theme but part of the episode. More changes from blue to red, showing the distant blue figures of the squad and then a closer red Lena staring off into the distance. Excited for you start the second half. Get ready for a new opening song, as much as you love your bass player I honestly like the next opening the best after repeated listens.

Up to now, the show has been quite impactful and has a lot of great moments as we close out the first half. If the show had ended here, yes it would have left some questions unanswered, but I would have accepted it. The next part introduces a character that killed a lot of enjoyment of the remaining series for me. I wont say more than that due to spoilers.

This is funny because they're supposed to be speaking in english canonically but obviously since this is an anime, they speak in japanese. But they're now in a school that has japanese characters and they can't read it lol.

I was 3 episodes behind and finally caught up. There’s 23 episodes plus the recap. The anime is based on a novel which has 13 volumes so far. The ending song is Avid which is composed by Hiroyuki and features singer Mizuki. I recommend the full reaction.
