I love this Anime.
This episode's sound design was just 10/10

The dialog and visual symbolism of Lena and Annette talk is a masterpiece. The song in the end of the episode is called "Alive today" and the composer is Kohta Yamamoto. One of my favorites of the OST.

You can call it graphics or you can call it CGI. Either way, we'll know what you mean.

This anime was divided into two parts, and episode 11 was the end of the first part, I say this so you can expect a kind of conclusion to the "first arc" of this story. After that I think there was a break of 3 or 4 months until the next part came out.

Its actually "Hear my voice". But "Alive today" is very similar, like a "happier" version of this song, i guess? Also Yamamoto has been working with Sawano on serveral other projects like AoT, so I guess thats why it sounds like Sawano. I always wondered if they work together on some of these pieces or if they each do their own thing, that would be interesting to know.

Absolutely love the visuals of the brother seeing Lena "slap" him. She might be super far away but she's protecting Shin now. Also the red flower field the 86 were talking about and it showed at the end - those are Lycoris radiata, the red spider lily. It's pretty famous in japan and anime as meaning "death".

Well now that spearhead is “done” (remember they get an order to just proceed in enemy territory with no supply and they get executed if they turn back) it’s time to point out how even the anime itself “divided” Lena and the 86: if you pay attention they were never in the same scene together, meaning that even while dialogues where going there weren’t cuts between them and the focus remained only on one or the other group. The only time we switched perspective was through hard cuts like the OP, ED or title cards. So even the direction itself wanted to make you feel the separation between the two groups, which is kinda neat

I have a couple parts of this show that I come back to VERY often to rewatch and feel the emotions, but I completely forgot about the end to the first half of this episode. Shin finally remembering his brothers face with Avid playing in the background, it got me to tear up a little bit. And of course the end of the second half hits hard too. This show absolutely nails the emotional musical moments.
