Well being a Christian meant you held certain morals and beliefs. Vikings… didn’t really have any of those. This is a historical anime so you gotta keep stuff like that in mind.

It ties directly into what the priest was saying too. If it was christian love the appeal would be "these are people! You cant kill them!". By saying "don't kill them because they're christian!" it's a selfish and unchrist-like love; one of separation and tribalism.
