The music in violet evergarden and frieren both are top tier. Evan Call is probably my favorite current composer in the industry for the way he's willing to blend traditional and non traditional instrumentation and styles. It's emotional and feels "authentic" to the setting in each show. Like, bro is out here using a fucking typewriter as percussion it's so smart

It's only fair that 86 be replaced with another depression show lol. Can't allow a happy anime to be posted on mondays no siree

I dont know if someone has already mentioned this but there was a special released after the show ended that takes place between episode 4 and 5 and it is generaly recommended to watch that before watching episode 5

Violet is one 13 episode season, with an additional OVA that should be watched after ep 4 and before ep5. Then there are two movies, both cannon, the last movie is the end of the series to this point.

This will be a journey. Depression Monday eat your heart out

The song you were looking for at around 15:00 is A Simple Mission. And yeah it absolutely reminds me of John Williams circa like... 1991 Hook? https://youtu.be/d7deobsoa2U?si=dAP2ah0kqHx0RFe0

FullHeart, is it safe to assume you listen to the OST for Violet Evergarden on a regular basis?

FullHeart

Pretty regularly yeah. The whole OST is in one of my work playlists I use while I'm doing other stuff

Jet Man

FullHeart, when this series concludes on the patreon, would you be willing to assist me in putting a video together for Tony on the OST? Are you on the Discord?

FullHeart

Hard maybe. I'm in the discord as @fullheartcontainer feel free to ping me for more details

Ryo

The music from the postal office is called "A Simple Mission" by our beloved Evan Call

JoeyGuy7

I think you are the first person in history to compare violet evergarden to Forrest Gump lmao

Violet Evergarden is one of the most beautiful animes I've ever seen in the art department. Amazing.

Violet Evergarden is a Kyoto Animation original anime, a masterpiece from start to finish in EVERY way, I'm so glad you're liking it on just the first episode. And for the record, it's from the same studio that made the anime "Sound Euphonium" ;)

For season 1 Evan Call composed 1h45m of music, and an extra 2h15m for the movie. Not only did he compose a masterpiece of a score, the sound director masterfully squeezed it for everything it was worth. Honestly can't think of an anime with sound direction this good.

I actually just finished watching this recently, it's only been a few days and I'm already tempting to rewatch it. I think it made me like emotionally vulnerable or something because ever since finishing, the smallest things in every show make me want to tear up. Masterpiece of a show.

Depression Mondays just got amplified. This anime made me cry countless times. The journey Violet goes through to comprehend Gilbert’s words to her is just beautifully done. Evan Call is such an amazing composer. The score for this anime is one of my favorites.

Alberto Climent

Evan also composed the frieren ost

This anime is a masterpiece...so good

Violet, the main character, is 14 I think. Very youngg. Basically an ex child soldier
