Just got back from work and finally had a chance to watch. I can't believe I left out the most important details! The song was composed and arranged by Tsubasa Ito. Not sure about some of the percussion, but almost all of it was performed by real people. You can find a few pictures of the recording session pinned under his profile on X. Thanks as always for the video. Glad you enjoyed it.

Cygames dose a great job of pumping tons of money into Uma musume and you get amazing things like this. They have a ton of really fantastic songs. Although a good number of them won't fit your taste you can feel how much work is put into them.

Also when you said they have a Broadway feel to it. After the race they get a "victory show" that's fully mocaped in studio. (It's a short version of the song) Here is the in-game version of this song if you are interested https://youtu.be/zwN-DPQf1gQ?si=POujpfEm9jFeQNuF

You can actual move around who is singing the main role/ sub roles for the animated "victory show" in the game. For some songs you can find youtube videos over an hour long due to so many characters singing sometimes 4 separate roles each. It's crazy how much quality is put into this mobile game.

Ayy! It's Uma Musume! The horse racing gambling mobile game!! Yeah, nah yeah it's an astounding IP making 22 Million USD MONTHLY that came out of nowhere a while ago, shoving other multi-million dollar IPs to the side like nothing! That said, I'm glad they're putting all that money to good use by paying top dollar for this kinda stuff! The fan-reception is rabid for this stuff, as the IP is a mix of Horse Race gambling + Japanese Idol culture where each of the characters who have a voice is trained and taught to sing and dance with maximum entertainment, who's efforts being put into their acting and singing is rewarded with fans of equally die-hard craze. It's definitely a sight to behold if you ever catch it in person, salarymen taking selfies with a cardboard cut-out of their favourite personalities. All that aside, you met with the Helldivers guy?! That musta been rad! And sorry to hear about your newfound concern what with Reaper flexing it's stuff, I couldn't wrap my head around it when I used it but it's absolutely a beast with what it can pull off for sure. Yeah! As Hoho mentioned, the composer for this piece is Tsubasa Ito. I did some reading and he's got an extensive background with the indie group Kyoko Active NEETs which has been publishing arrangements of pieces since 2014. The one's he's worked on as an arranger are the Kantai Philharmonic Orchestra 1-5 which has been released between the years 2014 and 2017, alongside the Touhou Philharmonic Orchestra 1-12 from 2014 to 2020. All the while he was doing that, he was also getting gigs for composing for anime and small idol groups! In recent times he's been full-throttle on the Idol train, composing and arranging pieces for idol groups under the Pony Canyon label, one of the absolute biggest labels in Japan! I can't imagine a guy like this would suddenly swap to programs like Reaper to 'replace' real players looking at his track record, so you can rest easy knowing that it's all definitely played for real! I did way too much reading but I've been listening to Active NEETs since highschool and I never knew this guy's been a part of my life for so long! Anyways, thanks for the reaction! Sorry for the super duper long and messy message lmao, just got ahead of myself there. Have a good day!
