Rooftop Hangout (Patreon)

Hi, all! And happy midweek. Hope it's been a good one for you so far.

This is a piece I've been kinda noodling away at between other drawings. I've drawn Babs and Kara a lot this year, but not as much with them together. So this is a bit of a precursor before SuperBatober starts up in a couple months.

In my imaginary graphic novel, this would be the beginnings of a sequence right around the second act where, after school, a young, still-not-as-experienced-as-she'd-like-to-think-she-is Barbara is showing her new (and curious) super-powered companion the ropes of being a crime fighter. Think of it as a bit of bonding moment as they're still getting to know each other. Also, I expect things to progress unexpectedly from here. For DRAMA (and also very likely, because this is me, quite a bit of humor).

One thing I kept going back and forth on is if I should include the headphones around Babs' neck since that didn't seem very functional for someone about to swing off a roof. But then I just saw the new TMNT film (which was really fun) and Donnie was wearing headphones the entire time doing exactly that so I guess it can work! Yay for comic/cartoon logic.

Anyhoo, been a lot of pinups on here of late so hopefully you enjoy a bit more of a fuller illustration. Always fun drawing scenes like this when I can find the time.
