Several members have encouraged me to investigate the possibility of using exploits to defeat the mage tower boss.

Rather than simply discuss the mage tower bosses I thought I'd make a generic list of exploits I use for soloing bosses and then discuss them with reference to the mage tower bosses.

1.  The "juiced-up" buff from Tanaan jungle (see earlier post here-https://www.patreon.com/posts/8455971). This adds 5% to all your stats.

This is extremely useful in the mage tower effectively increasing your ilvl significantly. The only problem is getting to Tanaan Jungle repeatedly and back quickly. The buff lasts ten minutes which should be long enough.

2. Talent switches. This involves using one talent to gain some benefit then switching to another before combat. Some ideas how to do this are explained in my wow pvp video here:-https://youtu.be/curSNDvHf00?t=1141 , there are others.

The main problem with using this in Mage Tower is that you need tomes of the tranquil mind in order to change talents within the instance, and these aren't costless. That said for reasonably well-financed players this is essential since these tricks generally add a small but significant amount to survivability and/or dps.

3. Log-out Timewarp/Bloodlust etc. This trick involves casting timewarp then logging out, then doing something else for ten minutes. When you log back in you should have twenty seconds of timewarp left, but the sated/unstuck in time (etc) debuff should have gone allowing you to cast tw for a further 40 seconds. Can also be done with potions and sometimes can be done with classes that can reset the boss.

Not appropriate for Mage Tower challenge since a log-out dumps you out of the instance.

4.  Attacking items such as "Sturdy Love Fool" or "Worn Doll" to build up resources and enhanced dps before a pull.

In the Mage Tower scenario the Sturdy Love Fool will not work as the scenario is considered to be indoors. Worn doll can be used but only survives one hit so is very marginal.

5. Delectable Ogre Queasine-this is a food item lying around in Bladespire Citadel. When you eat it, you get a health and mana regeneration debuff.

This would be great for Mage Tower but for the fact it no longer seems to be consumable-others report different results so I am not sure if this is a toon-specific effect.

6. MAGE-ONLY. Spell-steal - a number of buffs can be stolen from mobs in other instances, a few are very over-powered.

In the mage tower scenario using spellsteal effects are impractical due to the short duration of spellsteal (2 minutes maximum) and the difficulty of getting to the mage tower+roleplay time before the fight with Agatha actually starts.

The most OP spellsteal buff in the game comes from High Nethermancer Zerevor in the Black Temple, who has a buff called "Dampen Magic" which reduces damage from spells by 75%.

7. HUNTER-ONLY.  The Fel Slime Debuff https://youtu.be/Wmak7I3usm8?t=585 . A strong dps boost with the noticeable disadvantage that it kills your pet.

Works well in Mage Tower if you know how to workaround the dead pet.

I'll update this post with more techniques as I try them.
