Strange Tanking Pet (All Classes), Very Useful For Gold Farming (Patreon)

This is a very sophisticated piece of exploration, one of the best I've seen. However it will probably take you half an hour, more the first time you do it, 

If you go through the Gilneas quest line (all characters can do it once there) five or six quests in you will get the quest "From The Shadows".  This gives you a "Gilnean Mastiff Collar" which summons a mastiff. 

The mastiff can be summoned and will persist through zoning, though the collar will be removed. There are no restrictions on those who "break-in" to Gilneas as there are for new worgens who have not completed the zone.

The mastiff, like most hunter pets, does minimal dps. It is however very useful for holding aggro when fighting against multiple targets, also for keeping players in combat in pvp.  It has about 2/3 of the players health and scales to their level. It can be healed/shielded etc.

If you or the pet dies you will have to return to Gilneas to get it back-for this reason it is primarily useful for farming mobs which are tough  but unlikely to kill you.  (You cannot hearth back to Gilneas). It can also be useful for pvp if you don't want to leave the starter zone on that toon (just reacquire the quest to get the collar back).

Note that the mastiff is naturally placed in defensive stance. It has no pet cast bar as player pets generally do. It however responds to the same commands. You might want to put the following commands as macros:

/petattack

/petfollow

/petstay

/petaggressive

On teleporting to Stormwind the mastiff came with me, however the original quest came up. I accepted it-and lost the mastiff, so don't do that. 

There are lots of other possibilities for starter zone Gilnean exploitation I'm currently investigating. This is a really exciting breakthrough for the exploit/exploration community.
