Some Fun Niche WOTLK Exploits (Patreon)

(I'm still going to post anything interesting on WOTLK for those who are curious, it is just that at the moment for various reasons Dragonflight is producing vastly more content. Niche exploits are still being found in WOTLK but because they are niche I will consolidate them into one article.)

In no particular order:

Clever Dalaran arena exploit

This is a really clever trick to get on top of the platform without special abilities in Dalaran arena. Someone has kindly made a video demonstrating this here:

Frost Damage One-Shots Blackrock Depths Mobs

The mob "molten war golem"

can be one-shot by frost attacks. This makes for some potentially interesting gold-farming techniques and/or experience grinding in the relevant bracket. 

Priest Able To Have Inner Fire Buffs

This one is priest-specific but it might well be the case that other classes can use the same basic method to glitch their abilities (I'm still researching this):

"I noticed this on my alt priest with the ranks I’m able to have at my current level (72) so not sure how it works with different ranks than this, but I’ll provide the example with my observed ranks specifically.

Using dual spec, be a spec that does not talent improved inner fire, and use inner fire rank 8

Switch specs to one that does have improved inner fire talented.

Use inner fire rank 7

From the character stat-sheet the armor does add and stack to the amount present, so the buff is working and not a visual bug."

Dots Crits Can Bypass Resilence Damage Reduction

There are multiple reports from people complaining that dot crits (eg affliction lock and feral druid abilities), can bypass resilience in pvp. This seems to be something hard-coded that Blizzard has not and does not seem to have any intent to fix according to all the literature I could find. 

Multiple Ranks Of Abilities Being Hotfixed, Slowly

This one is only for theory-crafters.

The most recent Blizzard official blue posts indicate a strange amount of hotfixes for individual class abilities where ranks of the same ability can be stacked. They are doing this one at a time, very slowly. 

This looks like this is a systemic problem with ALL classes they are taking a long time to solve on a case-by-case basis so it might be a good idea to take a few minutes to test your own character's individual class abilities and see if you can exploit anything.
