Since Wednesday gold returns from world quests appeared to have increased. As with the temporary increase to the value of vendor items from Legion raids last week, it is not unclear whether this is a glitch caused by scaling, or a permanent change.

The best example of this currently is the "Chosen Champions" quest in the southeast of Maldraxxus. This will be up for approximately one and a half days on NA realmsand one and a half days on EU, after this article has been published. This offers an 814 gold reward, with war mode's 20% bonus that goes up to 977 gold. This does not include returns from callings.

Older zones are affected also: In Drustvar in Kul'Tiras

World quests with exceptional rewards are not that efficient to solo-you will need partners for this to be profitable or at least to hook up with any one also doing the quest. The game gives you the same amount of quest completion for killing multiples whether one or many players attacks the mob.

We'll have to wait for another purple quest with a gold reward, but for the moment it looks like sl world quests are going to continue to sometimes produce outsize gold rewards like this. There's a regular gold quest up in Maldraxxus ("spore losers" which can be glitched see archives) which is going for 271 gold-so that suggests purple gold quests would be in the 1k range.
