At the start of the main gate entrance to Stratholme there is stone tunnel  with torches on either side leading into Stratholme proper.

Facing into Stratholme, walk forward and then turn to the first torch on your left and walk into the wall underneath, if it works you should be slightly above the ground on the foundation stone. If it does not work try again moving fractionally to the left of the torch. Now jump up onto the ledge.

Practice this a few times so you can do this at will, as you will need to be able to do this when attacked. The ledge is a reset point and allows you to drop combat roughly equivalent to hunter's feign death.

Ranged mobs can still attack you and do not evade but the mobs near the entrance are very weak and can easily be soloed by players under 60 let alone those above.

This method allows any class to farm Stratholme at 60+ since it essentially eliminates any possibility of dying when pulling too many mobs, when done correctly. Stratholme is the most viable solo raw gold farm for most casual players in TBC. Some classes can use it for leveling.

Mages will want to read the subsequent article to this one which outlines a special method for farming this type of instance at max level.
