EDIT: when I published this I did not know Shiekrunner had posted this on ownedcore hours previously. Normally I would take this down as I only want unique content on this patreon. However in this case I'm leaving it up as Shiekrunner did not explain publicly how to avoid the cooldown, which is crucial.

This exploit works in both retail and classic wow.

Access your battle.net account with a web browser online (not your game client)  and then go to:

Contract Support - World Of Warcraft - Unable to move

Select the character you wish to port and then click on "Move Character".

With a few exceptions this will move your character to Westfall (Alliance) or the Gates of Orgrimmar (Horde), in both versions of wow.

If you allow the transfer to be completed you will not be able to move any character on that account for eight hours, but if you simply close the window before you receive a message telling you that transfer has been successful, you will not get the cooldown.

There are obvious applications for leveling here. Judicious use of a hearthstone is one of the most important aspects of speed leveling in both forms of the game-this helps substantially, effectively giving you another instant use hearthstone with no cooldown-the only drawback being you can't change the location.

Additionally, for those players who like to use alts to buy up limited supply items this is going to dramatically improve your speed and efficiency of movement, increasing gold per hour from this strategy. You can literally port to any hearth location and then glitch your way back to Orgrimmar/Westfall without needing to move anywhere, and there are no restrictions as with the use of class trials.
