The RAOV Dupe, How To Monetize The Duped Currency (Patreon)

 On Ownedcore recently someone posted the following riddle in a post entitled "Free Wow Dupe Challenge". 

On the island  where there is no time, a statue resides. Above the statue in the  clouds, your treasure lies. It would be wise to camp before you accept  the statues blessing, for those who are impatient will only plunder for a  brief moment. Beware of the statue and its aura, for if you accept its  promise of soft landing, you give up your time of endless looting. 

After some testing, I believe the solution to the riddle is this, you will need to buy some goblin gliders unless you are using a demon hunter:

1. Go to the "Gleaming Crane Statue" on the Timeless Isle in Pandaria, located at 59.0, 60.0 .

2. Click on the statue. Type /camp , then as you do so click on the tooltip text.

3. You should be thrown into the air at speed. Just as you begin to fall cancel the logout and make for one of the floating platforms with a chest on it, using your goblin glider.

4. Loot the chest. It should respawn every 30 seconds. Repeat.

(advanced info: the /camp command effectively stuns your character which stops the crane's aura affecting the chests. Without the camp command the chests will vanish after a minute or so as they are supposed to).

Note that it is very easy to automate this farm - it can be done with an auto-clicker (auto-click programs can be downloaded from the internet for free). 

The chest awards two currencies: timeless coins and lesser charms of good fortune. 

Figuring out how to monetize these items is arguably harder than solving the riddle, but it can be done using the following methods:

1) Timeless coins-the most efficient method I am aware of for turning these into gold is this. Go to Kukuru's cave, also on the Timeless Isle. Kukuru is at 59.2, 40.4 . He sells cache keys to the chests that surround him for 500 timeless coins. The chests mostly return some random number of timeless coins, usually less than you paid for the key, but they also hold timeless armor items which vendor for small amounts of gold. 

2)Lesser Charms Of Good Fortune are MUCH harder to monetize- however these can be turned into Elder Charms Of Good Fortune by the NPC Commander Lo Ping in Townlong Steppes (37.8, 64.6). The Elder Charms can be used to purchase either Arcane Troves or Sunreaver Bounty's from Supplier Bao (51.4, 45.8) on the Isle Of Thunder. Both items contain small amounts of gold and some motes or a spirit of harmony. Spirits sell for around 300G on the AH and do so pretty fast on my small realm. A BIG problem is that you need to be exalted with the Kirin Tor Offensive or The Sunreavers Onslaught, and you can only transfer 20 elder charms at a time. 

To get exalted with these factions in the conventional manner is not really practical given the time investment normally: however, during Mists Of Pandaria Timewalking Weekend it is possible to grind timewalking badges commendations with these factions very fast.  It is recommended that patreons run at least one timewalking event on each max level alt-the commendations are bind to account. 

I am not yet sure of the exact profitability of this farm on an hourly basis due to the unknown probabilities associated with these forms of monetization, and am still optimizing my strategies for it. However, on the face of it this is typical of the type of play RAOV have released in the past: something that with automation and multiple clients can be very profitable, but it is not like printing spectral tigers.

Additional Information

Much gold-making literature suggests using elder charms for bonus rolls in MOP raids rather than the troves-however however this is not in itself a particulary efficient way of making gold and has the considerable disadvantage that it can't be done passively. A better active use for the charms is the weekly fight against the Celestial's on Timeless Isle itself where elder charms have proven consistently profitable for me, these can award up to 20 motes of harmony (600G) as well as gold and vendor items for a fight which lasts seconds. 

The only problem with this strategy is actually getting to the Timeless Isle, however you can use your duped TI coins to purchase a "Time-Lost Artifact" trinket (7500 coins) which will port you directly to TI, and is sold by Mistweaver Ku at the Celestial Court itself. I have found this trinket to be a good investment.

Further it may be possible for players to travel between the platforms above the Gleaming Crane Statue area using movement abilities such as monk transference. This would be allow a reduction in looting time and would make the opportunity more profitable. 

EDIT: Someone just posted a solution to the riddle on Ownedcore, however without any info on how to monetize the coins/charms and with several unnecessary stages (you don't need to kill yourself nor use special items to gain height).
