In Battle For Azeroth the consensus among those who bot and/or use other third-party external hacking programs is that the life of any account using those methods is short. For these reasons only "kamikaze" (ie on an account you can afford to lose) hacking is considered viable or even plausible as a money-making strategy. This is attributed to improved detection methods on Blizzard's part and some paranoia.

There is one way however to use the power of hacking programs to the advantage of the main account of a player, using the following method.

1. Set up a "kamikaze" account. This can be a full BFA account, a basic account or even a trial account.

2. Use a speed, fly, teleport or other similar hack to scan large areas quickly for some item that appears randomly and can contain loot of value.

3. Utilize this information to acquire the aforementioned items on your main account.

Most obviously, since I have been writing about these recently with silverbound or other chests that spawn randomly in the game world. Simply note the spawn locations of the chests and feed the coordinates to your hacking device and check the locations.

Note however that this works with any rare spawn item-khorium ore nodes for example, or the nat pagle book in Dire Maul, including those that may be put into the game in future.

This approach would yield dramatically improved efficiency when it comes to searching for these items. Some provisional calculations based on a combination of teleport hacking, chests + my usual route of khorium farming suggests returns of 100K-150K per hour were quite possible with this approach.

You should never get banned on your main account with this approach, since there should be no obvious connection between the activities on the two accounts.

EDIT: Stephen wisely points out below that Blizzard could technically trace your accounts back to a single IP. I'm not certain whether they actually do this or can legally do this (at least under european law) however it costs nothing to use a VPN either way to mask your IP.
