Summary

In this article I explain a method to increase the power of remote viewing abilities ("scrying") and dungeon resets to locate khorium ore, the most valuable ore in the game, much faster than is normally possible. Also, a simple method for classes who do not have these abilities is explained.

In previous articles which got very  positive feedback I have outlined how to use "scrying techniques" to farm rare, difficult to locate items very quickly:

This article explains how to search Dire Maul for the valuable "a thoroughly read copy..." item essential for paladins looking for the Corrupted Ashbringer appearance using far sight and the jewelcrafting item "Scrying Roguestones".

This latter article contains information on how to use abilities like the priest's mind vision and the shaman's farsight to quickly scout the Burning Crusade dungeon Shadow Labyrinth for Khorium Ore.

The following information extends these basic technique and also outlines a method for non-scryers. It will help to be familiar with the basic methods to get the full benefit.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

In the original article on Shadow Labyrinth I explained that you could simply reset the instance every time you scanned for a khorium vein. You can do this a maximum of ten times, or so I thought at the time.

It turns out that there is no instance lock if we run different instances. Shadow Labyrinth has the advantage of being part of the Auchindoun network of dungeon instances all very closely grouped together.

Effectively this means we can extend the khorium vein hunt beyond ten scans of Shadow Labyrinth, doing one scan each of Sethekk Halls, Mana Tombs and Auchenai Crypts, for a total of 13 instances before we hit lockout.

Of these only Mana Tombs has a potential khorium node nowhere near the entrance. The only khorium node that ever spawns is right at the end of the instance in the final chamber with the Nexus Prince. With mind vision a priest can detect this instantly by using the command /tar ethereal theurgist (this is the closest mob to the node) and mind vision.

It is fairly easy to use shaman far sight or scrying roguestones to achieve the same effect-note that there is an exit tunnel from the Prince's chamber to the entrance-you can go in the opposite direction to quickly access the Prince's chamber without having to scry through walls.

Both Sethekk Halls and Auchenai Crypts  have the only potential khorium node spawning very near the entrance.

So near, in fact that these are quite viable farms for players who do not have a priest or a shaman, or jewelcrafting.

Both have potential khorium nodes spawning in the area immediately at the end of the entrance corridor. You can simply run and check and it will generally take around a minute or so depending on your class and your exit method.  You will hit instance lockout after ten minutes but your profit per hour invested using the non-scrying approach is quite good, between 30-40K gold based on khorium prices on most servers, just not as good as scrying.

Going back to the scrying approach it takes only seconds to scan for the node using farsight or scrying roguestones. For priests: use /tar time-lost controller in Sethekk Halls, whereas Auchenai Crypts have no distinct mobs near the first node so you'll have to skip from mob to mob using mind control till you come to the auchenai soulpriest or auchenai monk, at the end of the entrance passage.

This is an RNG farm-bear that in mind if you have a low risk threshold. These are a lot of fun but they are not for any one as they can be frustrating. It is quite possible to go through to instance lockout without finding a single khorium node.
