I've been looking into the new Seething Shore recently. There are a few interesting angles.

Many players have figured out that you can jump out of the start of each ship (eg https://www.ownedcore.com/forums/world-of-warcraft/world-of-warcraft-exploits/658332-get-down-seething-shore-before-everyone-else.html).

As noted in that thread and elsewhere the advantage gained from doing this doesn't appear meaningful, since you only gain a few seconds advantage over the enemy attempting to mine the azerite nodes. However, I should point out that at higher levels of play such small advantages can become important as the teams skill and gear tends to cancel out.

There's a way to improve significantly on the basic early start method however, using lag7 (see recent post for download) or any lag induction method. Jumping out of your faction ship before the timer goes down to zero will teleport you back into the ship. The way to bypass a teleport field is to use lag-teleport fields only act server-side. This allows you a more significant advantage since you can get on the ground before any one has left the ship.

You are still restricted to jumping out of the ship towards the start of the bg because, as soon as the lag cancels, you'll be teleported back. You'll also need decent timing and some form of slowfall to avoid simply dying from fall damage.

An interesting way to get an edge I've discovered is to teleport inside an azerite node. Azerite nodes are hollow-you can comfortably fit a character inside. You can blink or use displacer beast to get inside a node, also you can put down a demonic circle or transference spirit on the node as it forms and port inside once the node has completed itself.

The advantage of being inside a node is limited. You can still be attacked. Alt-tab will find you. You can be hit by aoe. However, it is still highly confusing for the enemy and you can mine the node from inside-it is the sort that gives you crucial edge over the course of a bg but often fails when you attempt it on individual nodes. It also takes some practice to get inside one quickly.

Finally, you'd think "Feast Of The Fishes", a food item which turns you into a speedy fish, would be really useful on an island bg. And it is in parts of the map allowing you to escape easily from combat in certain areas and move in out of range, giving the player a huge edge in those parts of the map, since your speed allows you to kite from range and be essentially unkillable. The difficulty is in that much of the water on the map is shallow and fish feast users are quite vulnerable when not in combat and not in deep water. That said if you practice and work out which areas have deep water, and can make or acquire the feasts inexpensively, this is a nice additional edge.
