But it did not matter anyway now, because he was hellbent on getting her back. He was going to destroy that man and then snatch Eva back for himself. He wanted that naïve and good girl back in his grasp and he swore to use her properly this time.

So he had made that move. He knew about Eva’s feelings for him. So he was certain that he would definitely succeed. He had kissed her that last night not only to make an advancement on her but also to spite Gage Acheron. He had teamed up with Jessa to make it happen, since Jessa wanted Gage Acheron so bad. Julian had wanted to see how Gage Acheron would react. He wanted to find out what the man can do and he thought that Gage Acheron would finally show his real colors too, when provoked.

And he was right! The man had indeed shown up. The monster showed up. It was something he had never ever expected. He never believed in superstition. He does not even believe in god, much less some old wives’ tales or hearsays from others. To him, those things were complete and utter nonsense.

But after what had happened to him last night, his views had undergone a 180-degree change. And now, he swore that no matter what kind of monster Gage Acheron turned out to be, he was not going to back off. He would make sure that every dark and dirty secret of Gage Acheron would be exposed. He would happily watch the world to target him and hunt him down like the criminal he really is. And once he has been captured, he would make sure to dissect that man’s body alive. With his own two hands.  He could not wait for that day to come. He would even make sure to have Eva watch. Just thinking of that was enough to make him shiver in excitement and his blood race within his veins.

Julian did not notice how a scary and maniacal smile had twisted his somewhat good-looking features into a horrifying and grotesque mask that would make any horror themed film proud.

Eva sat in the CEO's chair at ACEON, scrolling through the flood of emails that had flooded into her account identified as Evangeline Young. As she read through them, her eyes widened as they glanced over the name of one of the senders. It was her grandfather. What was he doing?

Eva paused and just stared at her computer’s screen for a while. Somehow, just seeing the name was enough to have the memories of all the things that the Young family had done, come flooding into her mind again. That is especially so with this so-called ‘grandfather’ of hers. The very man she had looked up to ever since she was child. The highest aim for her as a person while she struggled up the corporate ladder. That one person whom she had tried to emulate as her role model.

She was not really expecting to read anything good from an email from said grandfather. Since that day, she had cut them all out of her life. Or to be precise, the day when they had decided to cut her out of their lives and abandon her to fend for herself. Somehow, right now, Eva even felt a little glad that all of them had always been cold and distant to her. Had they shown her even a little bit of love and care, even if it was just only for show, she thought that it might not be that easy for her to shut her heart completely off to all of them.

Right now, she was not feeling anything. She just could not feel anything for them, nor the person she once called grandfather.

Dearest Eva,

I hope this message finds you well. It has been a long time since we have spoken, and I regret the way things ended between us. I know that I was wrong to strip you of your CEO position at XY Corp, and I wish to make amends.

I don't know where you are or what you are currently doing, but I hope that you would consider my offer. We are begging you to come back to XY Corp. Jessa has been fired, and we want you to come back to our company as soon as possible. We are willing to give you anything you ask for in return.

I know that I have made mistakes in the past, but I want to make things right this time. You are my granddaughter, and I am proud of everything that you have accomplished. You have proven yourself to be a capable and successful businesswoman, and I believe that you have a bright future ahead of you.
