Went a bit ahead and decided to pencil the closing scene of our opening issue of FKII (don't get too giddy - the issue is still missing 2/3 of its pages!). It follows some characters into a very grim and important place, and even tho I'm usually not the kind of guy to throw references left and right, doing a bit of a Arnold Böcklin homage felt very fitting. Initially I wanted to have more negative space on the page, but it really signs with the cloudy horizon, innit?

And yeah, since Böcklin himself made at least half a dozen versions of the painting, it felt fitting to iterate on the rock formation a couple of times, too! And I'll just see which of the two strikes more of my fancy closer to the moment when I actually get to inking it.
