(Don't miss the first post here!)

Rare occurrence: me redrawing a huge chunk of a commission from the scratch??? Welp, first of all, on my initial drawing I ended up using too much white ink (to get rid of some "dirt" around the letters), and the paint in big amounts looks too messy for my taste and with this style. Secondary, the inked over version ended up feeling too "heavy" and over-rendered, so for my second attempt I decided not to do any hatching or pen texturing on the logo. Instead, I let the ink outline be diffused with water.

The best part about it? I LOVE all the "dirt" around second version of letters! I multiplied the dirt there two times!

And don't worry, none of this gets wasted - not in Trakhanov's household! I'll find a place to use this version of the logo, too ;)

Fun fact: the salt I used for a grainy watercolor effect was spicy, because dumb me forgot where the usual salt was in our kitchen. And you could see some of the salt, already scratched off from the picture, on one of the photos! And you can probably smell the Spice on the pieces, too.

P.S. I hope some of you recognized the logo design! I nicked it directly from the old Dune tabletop game - when someone pointed out to me that the "golden" color I use for Dune series resembles the series of cards (previously unseen by me). Never be afraid to double down!!!
