Update for my Cool Ghouls (Patreon)

I’m going to pause the Patreon from charging you this month as I won’t be able to deliver you a full video by the 31st. The supply chain of ideas is fucked right now, thanks capitalism!

I’m disappointed that I’m not going to be able to get you a nice video to watch on Halloween, but I bit off a bit more than I could chew in one month with this topic. I’ll tell you a bit about it:

My video is about Bret Weinstein of the Dark Horse Podcast and why he is the way that he is. If you’re unfamiliar with Bret, he is an honourary member of the “Intellectual Dark Web” (Think Jordan Peterson, Ben Shapiro, Sam Harris) who recently got a lot of attention for being one of the main guys to promote Ivermectin as a cure for Covid.

I want to dig into this guy’s entire life- his accomplishments, his insecurities, and a few rhetorical flourishes he returns to again and again to explain how someone like him, a popular and beloved professor at a progressive, “lefty” university, a Bernie voter, turned into an Alex-Jones-tier conspiracy podcast host.

Turns out that meant listening through an absolute shit ton of boring-ass podcasts. I’ve heard every time he was on Joe Rogan, and a decent chunk of his personal “Dark Horse” podcast, and I’ve combed through a bunch of his writing and emails and things written about him, and I think I’ve got a good theory for what made him… like that.
